A gift to the MVSEG Annual Giving Campaign (AGC) is the single most important gift to give to the Mar Vista school community. MVSEG bridges the gap between what LAUSD funds and the support and enrichment programs that enhance the day to day lives of ALL Mar Vista students –including art,​ science, technology, class-size reduction teachers, classroom aides, performing arts, P.E., social-emotional learning, spanish, instructional coach, and so much more!

How Much Should I donate

For the 2025–26 school year, we are asking every family to make a one-time donation of $1,800 or a $150 monthly donation. Please consider rounding up to $2,500, or $210 monthly, if you have more than one child enrolled. Our ultimate goal is 100% participation.

  • While LAUSD provides basic funding, MVSEG bridges the gap by providing the vital resources, services, and equipment necessary for a highly successful learning environment at MVE. We aim to spend nearly $680,000 in the 2026–27 school year to ensure our students continue to enjoy excellent programs.

  • This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. It provides nearly two-thirds of our total funding, which is essential for maintaining our enrichment programs and classroom support for the teachers.

  • For the 2026–27 school year, we ask for a one-time donation of $1,800 (or $150/month). If you have more than one child enrolled, we kindly ask you to consider rounding up to $2,500 (or $210/month).

  • The $1,800 one-time donation (or $150/month alternative) was determined based on our annual budget needs. To spend nearly $680,000 in the 2026–27 school year and maintain all our enrichment programs, we calculated what contributions from every family would be needed. We also recognize that families have different capacities, which is why we offer monthly payment options and encourage those with multiple children to consider higher amounts when possible. Many local schools ask for the same amount per enrolled child. 

  • Your donations are allocated to support four main areas:

    • Teacher Support (58%):** Funds classroom aides and an instructional coach to support teachers and small-group learning.

    • Enrichments (31%):** Provides instructors and materials for music, computer/tech, science lab, and physical education.

    • Campus/School Improvements (6%):** Supports classroom technology and landscaping.

    • General/Admin (2%):** Covers necessary administrative costs.

  • You can donate easily via the QR codes provided for PayPal or Zelle shown above. Please remember to include your child(ren)’s name(s) and room number with your donation. We prefer Zelle if possible as we get to keep 100 percent of the funds.

  • The MVSEG board meets with the Principal throughout the year to discuss funding needs. There are two formal board meetings in the spring where the principal presents a budget to the board for review. After discussion with the principal and the board, the budget is voted on.
